The moment Gov. Palin was introduced, vile venom spewed from the mouths of some liberal media in order to denigrate the Palin family. Her children were considered fair game the moment, liberals say, “she paraded them at GOP” functions. That’s an amusing justification considering Sasha and Malia Obama were also “paraded” around Dem. functions as well as almost every other political figure who made it to election night.
Linda Kellen Biegel, Democrat Party Alaskan Blogger, photo shopped Eddie Burke’s face onto a photo of Palin’s son Trig for the amusement of her readers and to make some revealing political statement. Wait, what I am thinking? Trig’s not even Palin’s son, another ridiculous accusation that no other political family has faced in history. You’ve got Joe Biden’s daughter allegedly snorting a substance up her nose on video. However, few in the media would touch the story, and if they did, the coverage was fluff. We wouldn’t want to disrespect the Biden family now would we?
I cannot ignore Bristol’s teen pregnancy and the circus the tabloids and media created. Teen pregnancy and statistics in America should have been the focus. Instead, critics screamed Palin ignored her daughter blah, blah, blah. Even better, they chased Britsol’s baby’s daddy to further humiliate and torture the family. Someone could at least covered the other 750,000 American families that are about to face the same problem every year.
In addition to personal attacks, critics continually called Gov. Palin out on bogus ethical violations. Scared opponents began a witch hunt, costing Palin and the state financially. In a day when ACORN steals elections and then our money, the frivolous accusations like Troopergate, Dairygate , and the infamous fish cook-off are ridiculous. The media latched on and ignored the real issues like the socialist agenda that is about to destroy our country. George Soros and Saul Alinsky’s plans were out there, but the liberal spin convinced mainstream America that only crazies believe that then Senator Obama could do such a deed. The media continued to nurse on the destruction of the Palin family.
In fact, the Palin-bashing love affair has cost the taxpayers of Alaska $260,000 thus far. Palin is not abandoning Alaska, she is saving the People from picking up the tab on future investigations. She decided to put the people first. Just like when she first became Alaska’s Governor and decided to sell the taxpayer funded jet on eBay. On the other hand, we watched Nancy Pelosi rack up carbon credits jet setting back and forth from California to Washington on a private jet which isn’t even large enough for her tastes. I wonder if she sips Mimosas on the way to work? Who is looking out for the people? Not Pelosi.
Fighting lawsuits has also cost the Palin family $500,000 personally. There are many mouths to feed in that family including a special needs child. Do you really think they can continue to have their bank account ravaged for the next few years? I think not.
Palin’s resignation also points to the fact that she understands Washington no longer represents the People. She stated on Facebook, “I am now looking ahead and how we can advance this country together with our values of less government intervention, greater energy independence, stronger national security, and much-needed fiscal restraint.” Palin’s a strong GOP leader, but again the Republican Party failed her like it failed has the People
Although Palin holds strong conservative values, she governed Alaska from the center. Palin resigned from her Ethics Supervisor position at the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation protesting the “lack of ethics” her Republican colleagues possessed. She should be admired for this that decision just as the one she just made. She can no longer target high taxes and wasteful spending because the government was force feeding our money down her throat. Her influence in America, she feels, would be better served outside of a government office. She asks us to trust her. I do.
To recap, as I watched Gov. Palin resign, I was stunned for a minute, then I thought, hey wait a minute, she is playing the game. You know, the game Democrats beat Republicans at time and again to the point of embarrassment. However, the game has shifted away from the two-party system trying to outwit the other, knowing it’s only them, to competing ideologies, liberals and conservatives and those somewhere in between. Palin, reeling from the effects of personal attacks and government restraints, understands that WE THE PEOPLE, will no longer tolerate a corrupt and destructive two-party government that ignores the will of the People. Go independent Sarah!
Oh, that’s right, it’s open season on conservatives. Much of the MSM just happens to be liberal, which is quite amusing considering conservatives are supposedly the rich who steal from the poor and the poor liberals are just that, poor. Yes, many conservatives have money but the Democratic party is not exactly the People’s Party which they lead their sheeple to believe. Anyway, the liberal media is alright with sexualizing women, that is conservative women like Sarah Palin. We don’t hear Letterman joking about her political beliefs. No, we hear about how hot she is or slutty she dresses, not to mention her children are considered fair game. The only comments we hear about Michelle O’Bama are respectful and purvey her intelligence, class, and motherly love. In fact, I am disappointed in O’Bama and Hillary Clinton who not once spoke out against this disgusting behavior during the campaigns and still remain mum. Silence for political gain. Have we really gotten anywhere? Is that the message that women in power want to send out? Just ignore it, thus encouraging, if you can reap personal benefits. Is there no sisterhood anymore? Or has it become one side against the other where organizations designed to accommodate women’s needs only serve those with the same political views?
As a young woman with baby boomer parents, I cannot be more disappointed in the state of affairs. When I was younger, I admired groups that empowered women. Was I just completely naïve or did women really care about the plight of women? If they did care, what happened? Why do I feel so disillusioned as well as many other women? Is power that great that one woman would step on another to get what they want? NOW, yoo-hoo are you out there? Someone needs to step up and say enough is enough besides the women on FOX News. If one does not agree with Sarah Palin’s politics, then discuss that, not a vile joke about the statutory rape of her daughter. Of course Letterman now claims he was speaking of Palin’s 18-year-old daughter who is a target because she happened to have a child and is of legal age which then excludes rape. Letterman insinuates that if you are a mother whose young daughter got pregnant not only are you a terrible mother but your child is, let’s say, easy. Hmm, I bet that hits home to many women out there who happen to be in the same situation. I wonder if they are insulted? The MSM sexualizes just about everything for ratings thus forcing young girls to mature women to internalize that and sometimes act on it. Now we have women in politics who are slobber knocking each other with personal insults and who ignore the poison spewed toward women which permeates society and affects our youth.
Wake up my sistahs! Regardless of political views, race, religion, and so forth, we must take a stand for one another. Here is the best thing. We are able to have a voice and we are allowed to have opinions. You do not have to like Sarah Palin or her views, but please help stop the exploitation of women. Hollywood and MSM are destroying much of what our predecessors worked for. What do our younger generations have to look forward to especially young conservative women? Feminist groups step up and do what you claim to do and stop sending mixed messages of hypocrisy. You are making my stomach fill with acid.
